An essayistic documentary film exploring the notion of memories
interwoven with identity. It is a film that dives into and interrogates the power of captured time
and how that time could shape one’s (mine) personality. Exploring how to (re-)construct one’s narrative and make sense of one’s
past self for the current and future one, we found ourselves to be within a memory, instead of merely observing it.

An intimate documentary about who we once were and how did we end up forgetting the past. After finding the undeveloped rolls of film which my mom had taken 15 years ago, I decided to try and get as much photos to live and breathe again as possible. A conversation evolves around the exploration of what losing your memories feels like and how to remember them years later.

Blink is an attempt to position myself there where I am most vulnerable, it is an attempt born out
of curiosity aimed at myself and everyone who doesn’t want to blink. Do we need to blink? Is it
hurtful to miss or do we just have the constant urge to know everything everywhere? With this
artwork I speak towards and about, try to justify and even look away from all of my longings to
be present, to fill everything with details, to not leave anything empty.
The film opens a discussion about the importance of the certain and specific longings and urges we have, whatever form they may have. It explores the lost moments that sometimes need to stay lost in order for the humans to feel the freedom that they need. And after all nothing stays lost forever. As long as I am aware now, emptiness is sometimes good.
